چکیده

The possibility of using non-Foster circuit to expand the bandwidth of a monopole antenna is investigated theoretically. Beginning with an inductor-loaded monopole antenna resonating at different frequencies by changing the value of the loaded inductor, we show that a frequency-dependent inductor is needed to enhance the bandwidth of the monopole antenna. The curve for the reactance of the frequency-dependent inductor versus frequency is fitted, which enlightens us to use a non-Foster reactive circuit to realize the frequency-dependent inductor. Based on the above studies, a monopole antenna loaded with a non-Foster circuit is presented. Simulated results demonstrate that the input reactance of the loaded antenna becomes stable and approaches zero, which favors the impedance matching and extends the bandwidth to a certain extent. Finally, a passive (Foster) matching circuit is designed to improve the bandwidth further. A 0.69-m monopole antenna with 2.0:1 VSWR in the frequency range 30–150MHz is designed and investigated.

Multiband Slot Loaded Uniplanar CPW-fed Monopole Antenna with Asymmetrical Arms

This paper presents a new approach for the design of a multiband uniplanar CPW-fed monopole antenna. The antenna consists of a fork like monopole strip to which is added an inverted U-shaped strip. The three branch fork like strip can create three resonant bands within the WLAN range while the placement of the inverted U-shaped strip provides a better impedance matching for the lowest resonant ...

FDTD Analysis of Top-Hat Monopole Antennas Loaded with Radially Layered Dielectric

Top-hat monopole antennas loaded with radially layered dielectric are analyzed using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Unlike the mode-matching method (MMM) (which was previously used for analyzing these antennas) the FDTD method enables us to study such structures accurately and easily. Using this method, results can be obtained in a wide frequency band by performing only one ti...

Design of an Ultra-Wideband Monopole Antenna by Using New Nano-Composite Materials

In this paper, a planar monopole antenna is introduced, also we added some new Nano fillers such as Fumed Silica and Aluminum Oxide to RT Duriod5880 and RO3003 to produce new Nano composite materials, then new Nano composite materials are used as a substrate of a ultra-wideband monopole antenna. Antenna characteristics are considered to illustrate that, by using these Nano composite materials, ...
